She was a key technical assistant for several works done by the geological group from the Department of Geology-La Plata Museum and National Research Council, on the San Rafael Block and other argentine regions for more than 40 years. She crossed successfully technical secretary ‘paradigms’: the old and the electric typewriter and finally the computer systems, always with enthusiastic expertise. Carlos A. Cingolani Preface The aim of the book is to offer all available information, largely presented at scientific conferences and meetings about the pre-Carboniferous units of the San RafaelBlock,compiledafterover15yearsofresearchintheareacarriedoutbythe working group. The opportunityto presentdata in theSpringerPublishing enables greater visibility of all data available to an international audience. A first proposal was made in 2013, with the support and enthusiasm of Dr. Jorge Rabassa as regional editor, for the series of Springer Briefs, but we soon realized that this wouldnotbeenoughinordertopublishthefulldataset.Itwasthereforerequested to Springer to change to Earth Sciences Series of Books and the deadline was extendeduntil2016 that finally constitutes theworkpresentedheretobe available to the geological community. We hope that this book to be a review of the state oftheartinthefieldthatstimulatesmorediscussionsabouttheSanRafaelBlock’s geological evolution, in the context of the proto-Andean Gondwana margin.
