You think you know where it will take you and what to expect, but often the reality is very different from what you envisioned. The journey can bring frustration, but there is also a chance for wonderful surprises and personal lessons. I would like to thank the friends who kindly shared information and offered support while I was on this particular journey: Charlynn, Chris, Christopher, Clyde, Dawn, Ember, Ethan, Heather, Jeanne, Jennifer M., Robbie, Sarah, and Tess. Thanks also to my trainer, Aaron, a soft-spoken young man who challenged me while smiling and who has taught me that success is possible in all areas of your life—even physical fitness. All you have to do is be willing to sweat and work hard. A few words of appreciation to my editor, Rebecca Zins, and to the team up at Llewellyn: Elysia Gallo, Bill Krause, and Carl and Sandra Weschcke. Finally, with love to my husband, Ken, and our three children, Kraig, Kyle, and Erin. Thanks for always supporting me and, most of all, for believing that I can do anything I set my mind to. Love ya! To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children...to leave the world a better place...to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. RALPH WALDO EMERSON
