The 2004 Presidental election and its debates certainly gave the U.S. Government classes (formerly POD) something to talk about. In the news, the terrible disasters caused by hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne changed many lives. The hurricane season and the gas price hike following it affected everyone in the country. Outside of school, students make the Time Traveling transition from the high school environment to the activities they engage in once the dismissal bell rings. The highly populated Port Huron High never changes in one thmg--spirit. Attending PH events like overcrowded football games, basketball games in loud gymnasiums and school plays shown in filled-to-capacity theaters, Big Reds know how to show each other support. Homecoming, Prom, Spirit Week, Student Council meetings and Float Building were just a few activities among the events that students participated in. Class and club meetings lured more students. As sports fans, Big Reds filled the stadiums and bleachers in between homework assignments and household chores. The time after school was valuable to teenagers, busy with a variety of activities like volunteer work and jobs. Others had the gratification of satisfying their own interests by hanging out with friends, playing video games and attending parties. Seniors participate in the Hula With tight schedules, students Hoop contest at the Games Assembly.
