'i ; ' INTRODUCTORY { The eighteenth edition of the Baltimore Business Directory, herewith presented, speaks so well for itself that the discriminating public will see at once that it is, as always, complete, accurate and up to date. The departments are better, because we are constantly nnproving them. New and valuable additions and improvements have been made, anii all the information contained has been recently procured and cor- rected to tlie latest possible date. This epitome of the business interests of the city contains the names and locations of Banks, Corporations, In- surance Companies, Newspapers, Railroads, ^Manufacturers, etc. Every profession, occupation and trade is fully represented and classified ac- cordingly^ so that the names and numbers of persons engaged in any occupation may be seen at a glance. The regular appearance of the Business Directory and the steady growth in the quota of advertisers is the most positive evidence of the appreciation which our efl'orts have had at the hands of those who should know best whether or not the publication is faithfully fulfilling its duties to the City it represents, and the publishers desire to express their thanks to the enterprising business men who lune joined with them. R. L. POLK & CO.. of Baltimore, Publishers, 957-959 Calvert Building.
