This edition of Adventure Allentown presents a broad
range of opportunities to enjoy being outdoors and active Employee Spotlight

Mayor Ed Pawlowski Job Duties: Mike is stationed at Trexler Park. His duties
include: driving equipment, mowing grass, tree work,

leaf-blowing and cleanup. During winter months, he assists
with plowing streets and parks.
Favorite Job Duty: Using the grappling bucket on the skid
steer.

Family: Mike and his wife Pam, have two daughters,
Madison and Avery. They reside on the South Side and have
a dog named Furman and three cats: Lucky, Geo, and Holly.
Hobbies: Home renovations, baseball, spending time

serve basis. However, reservations are strongly encouraged. Reserving the park, picnic grove, Weddings

Rain Out: If weather conditions at the park prohibit use of the facility, you
must notify the Department of Parks and Recreation office by phone no later
than 4:30pm on the first business day after the reservation day. We will
attempt to reschedule your group at no additional charge during the current
season, pending availability. Rain policy does not apply to pavilion rentals.
Cancellation: Any cancellation or schedule change less than seven (7)
calendar days prior to the reserved time will not be eligible for a refund, credit
or transfer.

Special Events Permit Fee - $75.00
Special event permits are required for any event with more than 25 participants held in the City
of Allentown. The initial permit fee is $75.00, with additional fees for city services provided.

Special Events Permit Procedure

Step 1: Contact the Department of Parks & Recreation at least two (2) months in advance of
your event to make sure your requested field, court, street or park is available for your desired date.

Step 2: Request, complete and submit the Special Event Application to the Department of
Parks & Recreation. ($1 million public liability insurance is required for field, special event and
band trailer permits.)

Step 3: Your event will then either be approved and you will be invoiced for applicable fees, or
denied for the use of your requested field, court, street or park.
