Most of the errors were due to the fact that the author’s mother- tongue is Bengali which has only V for V and V both and as a result in the Sanskrit words in which the letter occurs and their Romanization V /Cb’ was wrongly used in the first edition. Such errors have been corrected in this edition. But it is regretted that because of a pressing public demand for the book, it was not possible to correct the errors of diacriticals such as ‘jivanmukti’, ‘hathyoga’, ‘sunya’, ‘samasti’, ‘vyasti’, ‘varna’, etc. which as a rule with complete diacritical marks should be written as jivanmukti, hatha-yoga, sunya, samasti, vyasti, and varna respectively, since it would have meant re-composing the whole thing which would have proved to be a very time-consuming and costly affair.
