Many of you have asked whal will happen Lo Lhe extensive stales collection Uhal was slarted by our mother, George Anna Wehman, and continued after her death by Phil. After long discussions, we have decided to sell the majority of the collection The collection contains over 1,100 scales. if you attended the convention in Chattanooga, you know that he had some wonderful scales. Before his death, Phil donated several to the Discovery Park Museum in Union Gity, Tennessee, and we have chosen to keep a very few of our favorite scales. Other than those, all others will be for sale. We will also sell scale signs, advertising, postcards, and reference books. We have not decided what to do with the toy scales. In May, we will begin selling the small scales on E-Bay. The seller name is PHILSCALES. Check the site often and look for us. On Sunday, August 31, 2014, the larger scales and remaining smaller scales will be auctioned in Chattanooga by Les Meek at Meek’s Antique Auctions. Les is originally from Wales. He returns frequently to Europe where he handpicks furniture and other items to sell. Phil bought many scales from Les and we are thrilled that he is willing to handle this auction. We estimate that there will be over 300 scales for sale that afternoon. Les gladly accepts absentee bidders, phone bidders, and can arrange to ship scales if you cannot be here in person.
