Description:EMMETT
People truly suck. I don’t trust them, and I never will.
That’s why I spend so much time with my dog, Zelda. She’s loyal, trustworthy, makes me laugh, and keeps me on my toes---the perfect companion.
I have deadlines. I crave peace and quiet. My books don't write themselves.
I have no interest in making friends or meeting anyone new. If I need human contact, I'll call my brother.
Then Cora Kent, the biggest pain in the ass I’ve ever met, moves into the apartment across the hall.
She slams every door, stomps like a Clydesdale, blares her television, forgets to turn off her morning alarm, and never holds the elevator.
If I didn’t own this apartment, I’d move.
If she wasn’t hot as sin, maybe I’d stop dreaming about her.
She loves Zelda. I don’t understand why she hates me.
CORA
Emmett Nash is an insufferable cat-hating grouch who can’t stop working every one of my last nerves. He may have gorgeous eyes, killer arms, and the cutest pup in New York, but he’s also the last man I want living next door.
Thankfully, he’s inside writing his strange little crime novels most of the day and only comes out to walk his dog.
The more I see him, the more he grows on me. And I refuse to let that grump find out how much I want him.
I don’t know what kind of sick game he’s playing, but I refuse to let him win.
When it comes to love, everybody has hard limits. Lines that can't be crossed. Boxes that must be ticked. For the heroes and heroines in this series, there's just one limit, line, and box: "Love me, love my dog." (or dogs!)
