Overview Partners in Air is a multi-disciplinary program. Students learn about the chemistry, geography, mathematics, biology and physics of air pollution and air quality protection. It is a hands-on, practical approach to educating Ontario's high school students about air quality, with three components: Inaugural corporate sponsors 1. A curriculum unit, based on the province's new curriculum, provides students with in-class instruction, laboratory experiments, resource DOFASCO materials and projects that profile air pollution issues. • 2. An independent study unit or science club for Shell long-term sample collection and testing. Students study air quality and meteorological monitoring over the course of the school year. They learn to monitor for ozone, particles, ONTARIOPIIWU metals, sulphur oxides and other parameters and to recognize links between human activity, weather and air pollution. 1M 11/99 3.
