André Haynal is Professor of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva, and former president of the Swiss Psy- choanalytic Society. His work “Le Sens du Désespoir” (Revue Francaise de Psychanalyse, no. spécial, 1977) was awarded the Dubois Prize. (In English: Depression and Creativity, International Universities Press.) Pierre Rentchnick is a Specialist F.M.H. in internal medicine; visiting professor, faculty of Medicine, Geneva University; hon- orary member of the New York Academy of Science; Chief Editor of Médecine et Hygiene. His work “Ces Malades Qui Nous Gouvernent” (1976) was awarded the Littré Prize. Pierre de Senarclens is Professor of International Relations at the University of Lausanne.
