Papier-Mâché etc, - can be preserved and waterproofed by lightly brushing fully dry
objects with several coats of shellac, clear varnish, water glass or transparent glue.

a: Shellac - lac dissolved in alcohol
b: Clear varnish - equal proportions of liquid linseed oil, white [clear] vinegar and
turpentine.
c: Water glass - sodium silicate
