Voucher: image. Since this species was observed for the first
time on Saint-Barthélemy in 1995 (Breuil M, 2002, Histoire
naturelle des amphibiens et reptiles terrestres de l’archipel Gua-
deloupéen, Paris: Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle, 339
p.), 15 specimens have been found, mostly adults. The first
juvenile was found dead in November 2011 (Questel K, 2012,

venile indicates that the species has become established on
the island. It is currently too early to know the impact of this
invasive snake on local biodiversity.
