The decision whether to transliterate a book title, personal name, or a tech- nical term according to Arabic, Persian, or Ottoman scheme has been made based on the context. For example, al-Favāʾid al-dīniyyah and not al-Fawāʾid al-dīniyya because the content of the book is in Persian. Similarly, Fayż Kāshānī and not Fayḍ al-Kāshānī because he is from a Persian background.
