Ontario Regulation 362 (Waste Management - PCBs) under the
Envircnmental Protection Act deals specifically with Polychlorinated
Biphenyis (PCEs). Other regulations pertaining to PCBs include 0. Reg, 347
(General Waste Management) and 0. Reg. 352 (Mobile PCB Destruction
Facilities).
Information on PCB Storage Sites is collected under 0. Reg. 362 through th:e
district/regional offices of! Ministry of Environment and Energy (MOEE).
The MOEE has regional offices throughout Ontario. In 1994 there was a
reorganization of the Regional Operations Division. Figure 1 and Table 1
shows the new regions and the district offices in each region.
Thi!s publication an Inventory of PCB Storage Sites in Ontario as !of April!,
1 995. It does not include Federal PCB Storage Sites which are under
Environment Canada jurisdiction. There a!r,e currently just over 1730 active
P'CB Storage Sites in ontario; how!! ever; th!e qua njtitie!s and sit!!!e information
are constantly changing. Discrepancies noted in the i!nventory should b!e
directed to the appropriate regional/district office.
This!! inventory of PCB Storage Sites in Ontario has been issued for
information purposes only. The report has bee!!!!n divided into th,r,ee!!
Summary of FCB W!aste (Section A); Summary of Major and Minor
Sites (Section B); and Ontario PCB Storage Site Inventory (Section C). All
summaries have been sorted first by region and then by indMdual districts as
noted.
