April has a boss who needs to be taken down a few notches, and she sets out to plan an April Fool's Day prank that would long be remembered. April took great pains to plan everything in great detail, even to hiring a videographer to record the entire program, with the prank against Penelope Winslow as the highlight.
Everything goes off without a hitch, only, to her horror, the prank snowballs and the humor is quickly lost in the small town. Especially devastated is Penelope, who refuses to leave her house and cries constantly over her ruined reputation. April feels bad, and is horrified that the prank took off in a way she never anticipated! But she refuses to admit it to anyone else, even when Derrick Winslow, Penelope's handsome nephew comes around asking questions.
Derrick has never seen his Aunt Penny so upset, and when he finds the person, or persons, responsible, he intends to see them pay. When he learns that the sweet little redhead his Aunty Penny thought he should meet and fall in love with is the guilty party, he decides that a time-honored way of dealing with little brats will work just fine!
