GOVERNMENT OF ORISSA PLANNING & CO-ORDINATION DEPARTMENT RESOLUTION The 21st December 2006 S – Reconstitution of State Planning Board UBJECT In supersession of this Department Resolution No. 2425–SPB-1/2003, dated the 9th February 2003 and subsequent Resolution thereon, the Government have been pleased to reconstitute the State Planning Board as follows : 1. Functions of the State Planning Board are enumerated below : (a) To provide short-term and long-term policy guidelines for formulation of Five- Year and Annual Plans at the State Level and District Level Plans with a view to achieving rapid economic growth and development in the State. 2 (b) To systematically assess the existing stock of material, capital and human resources in the State and suggest the areas of their optimal utilisation. (c) To periodically review and evaluate the implementation of various Development Programmes in the State and the Districts and suggest corrective measures required, if any. (d) To make such recommendations to the State Government as it appears to it appropriate on policy issues, economic conditions, development programme as may be referred to it by the State Government. (e) To undertake systematic manpower survey and planning and to suggest measures for generation of maximum employment opportunities. (f) To advise the State Government on all matters relating to Planning & Development Activities in the State and Districts having their bearing on the growth prospect of the State. (g) To prepare Vision, 2020 for Orissa. 3. The reconstituted Board shall start functioning with immediate effect. ORDER–1. Ordered that the Resolution be published in an extraordinary issue of theOrissa Gazette for general information. 2. Ordered also that copies of the Resolution be forwarded to the Chairman, State Planning Board / Deputy Chairman, State Planning Board / Secretary to Governor, Orissa / all Members of the State Planning Board / all Departments of Government/ Member, Board of Revenue / all Heads of Departments / all Revenue Divisional Commissioners / all Collectors / Accountant-General, Orissa, Bhubaneswar / Deputy Accountant-General, Orissa, Puri / Planning Commission, Government of India, New Delhi and all Ministries of Government of India for information.
