BONAM VENKATA CHALAMAYYA ENGINEERING COLLEGE :: ODALAREVU ANNUAL REPORT 2016-17 It gives immense pleasure and I feel it‟s a great privilege to submit the annual report of Bonam Venkata Chalamayya Engineering College, Odalarevu. When Engineering Education was unaffordable and remained as unfulfilled dream to the aspirants of remote area, Late Bonam Venkata Chalamayya, a visionary person who established Bonam Venkata Chalamayya Educational Society in 1992, through that he started Bonam Venkata Chalamayya Engineering College in 1997. It was the first private Engineering College in East Godavari District and it stands high for its standards, discipline, ethics and values. Bonam Venkata Chalamayya Engineering College is located in serene environment of 40 acres, adjacent to Odalarevu Beach. It began initially with 180 students intake with three branches such as EEE, ECE & Mechanical. At present our overall intake in B.Tech. is 720 in which Mechanical & ECE branches consists 180 seats respectively, and 120 seats each in EEE, CSE & Civil. Our College also providing PG courses with the overall intake of 144 in M.Tech. level. Bonam Venkata Chalamayya Engineering College accredited by NAAC with „A‟ Grade, National Board of Accreditation (NBA), IAO (International Accreditation by USA Organization) and also it got PIO (Persons of Indian Origin) status with that it has been providing admissions to the International students. The College has made significant progress in the recent years. Based on that 103 students from Nepal, around 100 students from other states of India like Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Andaman and Gujarat got admitted and they have been pursuing their B.Tech. Degree. The infrastructure facilities are good in all Departments. The objectives of the College is to create self-confidence, self-discipline among the students to promote all round development and integration values. Infrastructural facilities:  Land Area : 35.61 Acres  Total Carpet Area : 26847 S.qm.  Class Rooms : 47  Drawing Halls : 03  Computer Labs : 10  E-Class Rooms : 06  Central Library : 01  Department Libraries : 06  Laboratories : 95  Workshops : 05  Girls Common Rooms : 05  Indoor Auditorium : 01  Seminar Halls : 02 Each department is facilitated with state of art Laboratories, e-Class Rooms, Seminar Hall, Digital Library etc., Every department headed by the Doctorate, and 1 : 15 faculty, student ration is maintaining. Central Library consists of 42,000 + books, providing latest National, International journals, periodicals, magazines, Internet facility to the students. The library is renown for its reference section. It opens from 7:00 A.M. to 11:00 P.M. on working days. Our College is Wi-Fi connected campus with that we are providing 24 × 7 internet facility to the students. The College also had an Indoor Stadium, Gymnasium, Basket Ball, Volley Ball and Foot Ball courts for the enhancement of their skills in Games and Sports. It is worth noting that in the academic year 2011-12 around 150 students; and in 2012-13 around 450 students got placements in various well reputed companies like Mahindra Satyam, Infosys, Syntel, HCL, Reliance etc., In the last academic year 2013-14 around 375 students got selected in above mentioned companies. In the present academic year 2014-15, 250 students have been placed in 15 reputed companies like Hidden Brains, Polaris, Efftronics etc. and 400 students have been placed in the A.Y.2015-16 in reputed companies. Institution is encouraging its staff to pursue higher education. It facilitating its employees to involve in research courses and providing incentives to the employees one who participated in National, International Seminars, Workshops and Symposiums. In Such a manner it encourages faculty members to enhance their skills and trends in the field of engineering. In the academic year 2013-14 college had conducted 20 workshops & conferences and in the next two consecutive academic years it has conducted 23 workshops & conferences. This shows the commitment of BVC Engineering College towards its quality based improved education. Bonam Venkata Chalamayya Engineering College has is well known for its tremendous results. In the last academic year it achieved 75% pass percentage. It is an exemplary for the institution in its achievements. BVC Engineering College conducting training session for the IV B.Tech. students to enable them for their campus interviews. The Institution mainly focused on the development of Intra and Inter personal skills. It is conducting classes in reasoning, arithmetic, aptitude. Qualified Doctors providing their services to the students in the Health center on 24 × 7 basis. The Institution is running NSS and Red Cross units in the campus and good number of students rendering their services as volunteers and playing an appreciable role in the social development of the vicinity by conducting various activities like Blood donation camp, Health Camps, Plantation of sapling etc., The employees of Bonam Venkata Chalamayya Engineering College maintaining „Employees Fund for Social Service‟, with that they are rendering their assistance to the poor and needy students / people. The counseling and Guidance cell helps the students to get their minds refreshed from stress; infuse their hearts with psychological stamina through a qualified psychologist. As a part of the extra curricular development, every year BVC organizing a National level youth festival “YUVAGALA”, this has a very special reorganization in the student community. It also celebrating the festivals like Ugadi and Sankranthi in such a manner it transmitting the culture among the students of various states.  The institution received 2(f) & 12(b) on 25th January, 2017 from University Grants Commission.  The institution received permanent Affiliation from JNTUK, Kakinada with effect from 23rd October, 2017 for a duration of three years.
