This document is effective from 1 April 2019. Appendices appear at the end of each Volume. Parts, Sections, Paragraphs and Appendices are all numbered consecutively through the entire book. To avoid repeating pronouns, the masculine form only is used throughout. Thus ‘he’ should be read as ‘he/she’, ‘him’ as ‘him/her’, and ‘his’ as ‘his/her(s)’. The 24 hour clock is used throughout. Volumes 4 to 6, the NRA Gallery Rifle and Pistol Handbook, the NRA Target Shotgun Handbook and the NRA Civilian Service Rifle and Practical Rifle Handbook, are published separately, but derive authority from the Council’s authorisation of this Handbook. This book is available in large print on A4 paper by application to Shooting Division or as an A4 pdf download on the NRA website. Information contained in this Handbook is valid as at 1 March 2019. Changes will be notified via the NRA website, the NRA Journal and, if necessary, by e-mail and/or post. All errors in this Handbook should be notified to Iain Robertson by e-mail at [email protected] or in writing via the NRA. foRewoRd The 2019 NRA Handbook is published in six Volumes. Volumes 1-3 are contained in this book. Volume 4, the NRA Gallery Rifle and Pistol Handbook, is a stand-alone A5 book which contains all the Rules for GR&P events, together with the Regulations and Conditions for the Phoenix Meeting. These four Volumes also appear online, accessible through the NRA website, along with Volume 5 Section A-C, the NRA Target Shotgun Handbook, and Volume 5 Section D-G, the NRA Target Shotgun Training and Reference Manual, which are currently released online only. Volume 6, the Civilian Service Rifle Handbook, is published online, with a small print run to provide hard copies for reference on the range by match officials. As usual, changes from the 2018 version affecting the content or applicability of rules are sidelined. Indexing changes and changes to correct typographical, grammatical and layout errors are not marked. Changes in the 2019 Handbook arise overwhelmingly from the plans to celebrate the 150th Annual Prize Meeting. An extra day in the Target Rifle programme of the Annual Prize Meeting has resulted in multiple date changes in the Competitions section. Additional competitions in F Class, Match Rifle, 12 Sporting Rifle and Target Rifle are included. There are minor changes in the NRA Rules of Shooting and in the Regulations for the Meeting. Bisley Ranges Regulations have been reissued coincident with publication of the Handbook, with minor changes. Ranges Regulations may change at any time. Changes will be announced on the NRA website and in the NRA Journal, and the current version is displayed in the Range Office. The Privileges of Membership, in regard to Meeting Membership, have been qualified to require supervision approved by the NRA for such members hiring targets. Para 202f dealing with cadet dress for competitions is now referenced to documents published by or through CCRS. Para 271 is amended to provide for designation of team areas in team matches.
