Nagpur University, Nagpur, India. He has almost five years of teaching experience, including PhD work, and while teaching, he has 10 years of research experience. He has participated and presented his work at several national and inter- national conferences and has five national and international publications and one book chapter to his credit. As a convenor, he has organized a three-day national workshop and a two-day national conference funded by government agencies. He has also worked as a member of the organizing committees of national conferences and workshops. He is a member of several professional organizations, such as the Society of Plastics Engi- neers (SPE), the Indian Plastics Institute (IPI), the All India Plastics Manu- factures Association (AIPMA), the Colour Society, and the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE). His areas of research interest are polymer blends, polymer nanocomposites, and synthesis of tailor-made functional copolymers via controlled living radical polymerization (ATRP, RAFT, and NMP) and their application as polymer/coating additives mainly surfactants (emulsifier, wetting, and dispersing agents), compatibilizers, and corrosion inhibitors. Maheshkumar Narsingrao Yenkie, PhD Maheshkumar Narsingrao Yenkie, PhD ([email protected]) is a PhD in chemistry and is presently working as Professor of Chemistry at the Laxminarayan Institute of Technology, R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur. He is also the former director-in-charge of the Laxminarayan Institute of Technology and former registrar (Oct. 2010–Sept. 2012) and former Pro- Vice Chancellor (Sept. 2012–March 2014) of R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur. He has 35 years of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience and is a former German Academic Exchange Fellowship vi About the Editors holder, having worked at the Institut fuer Thermische Verfahrenstechnik, Technical University of Clausthal, Clausthal-Zellerfeld, F.R. Germany (1988–1991). His areas of research interest are kinetics and equilibrium studies on adsorption of hazardous pollutants from synthetic and industrial waste- water onto powdered and granular activated carbon and synthetic adsor- bents in batch and flow systems, air and water pollution monitoring and control, advanced oxidation processes using strong oxidizing agents like ozone and hydrogen peroxide catalyzed by UV radiations for their removal from hazardous wastes, biological treatment (activated sludge process) of industrial and domestic wastewater, landfill leachates, etc. in high perfor- mance loop reactors (compact reactor) and biofilm reactors for eliminating BOD, COD, and nutrients and fluoride removal from water and waste- water. He has coordinated several research and development projects as a principal investigator, which includes research work related to photocata- lytic degradation of dyes in wastewater, detoxification of wastewater, and defluoridation of water. He has guided 21 students for their PhD degrees to date and has more than 55 national and international publications to his credit. He has partici- pated in several national and international conferences and has presented his work. He is also a guest faculty at the National Civil Defence College, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, and at the Department of Linguistics and Foreign Languages for teaching the German language to certificate and diploma students. He is a life member of six professional organizations, namely the Indian Science Congress Association, Oil Tech- nologist’s Association, Indian Society of Analytical Scientists, Chemical Research Society of India (I.I.S. Bangalore), Nagpur University Teachers’ Association, and Indian Society for Technical Education.
