This book has info/data on the MacDonald & MacLean families plus some
history on the Chisholm, Holmes, Keith, Thomas, Congdon, Edson, Hayward,
Macfarlane, families.
Contributors are several: George Hyde MacDonald, Charles MacDonald,
Douglas Macfarlane, Peter MacDonald, Cynthia Lyman, Charlene Armstrong,
Phillip Holmes, Joanne Shigekane, Jeanne Hendon, Allen MacDonald,
Bruce MacDonald and others.
These families trace their roots back to Scotland. One ship that did
transport many families was the Hector. There is an article about this
ship and a list of the passengers of 8 July 1773. This article did
appaar in the Pictou Advocate on March 21, 1973. Pictou is a small
town on the North shore of Nova Scotia, Canada.
This book is a collection of facts, pictures and organized in sections.
As you will see, this book is a put together a bit crudely. However,
it is submitted in this fashion because of costs. HoDefully there
will be others who might undertake a professionally bound hardback book
in the future.
