MARTIN GOVERNOR Dear Visitors and Friends: Once again, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to Raleigh for the 124th North Carolina State Fair. Many of you have traveled from across North Carolina to share in one of our state's most anticipated events. There really is nothing like the State Fair. From the livestock and exhibits to the lights and excitement of the midway mixed with the smell of corndogs, the State Fair is one place where it's possible to relive childhood and create a pocketful of memories. The 1991 State Fair promises to be the biggest and best ever. Our state's farmers will continue their tradition of displaying the farm crops and livestock that have given the state a national reputation for its outstanding agricultural products. While our farmers show off their hard work and talents, the children and other adults will surely enjoy the rides and exhibits. I hope that you will come to the 1991 State Fair and "Get a Little Agri-Culture!" Sincerely, ?)1mm' James G. Martin STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA OFFICE OF THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR RALEIGH 27603-8006 JAMES C. GARDNER LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR Dear Fellow North Carolinians, October is a special time of year for the State of North Carolina. The leaves begin to turn, cool breezes begin to blow across the coastline, and hundreds of thousands of our citizens travel to Raleigh for the North Carolina State Fair! I want to encourage you to participate in the 124th Annual State Fair of the Old North State. There are a number of ways in which you can be involved. First, you can participate just by attending the fair and enjoying all the wonders our state has to share. Secondly, you can enter your own prize-winning crops, livestock, or crafts in the many competitions found at our State Fair. North Carolina continues to have one of the state's greatest fairs. This is due to a great deal of planning and hard work in preparation for each event scheduled. Even if you do not participate in any of the many events, you can enjoy a day of fun in Raleigh with your family. Each year there are different activities to enjoy. Hope to see you there! rely. V^^ Jim Gardner JAMES A.GRAHAM COMMISSIONER Dear State Fair Exhibitor: It's hard to believe but the 124th annual North Carolina State Fair is nearly here. With such a record-breaking event last year, the sky is the only limit for the 1991 fair. The N.C. Department of Agriculture is dedicated to making the Oct. 18-27 fair the best ever. We look forward to working with the many exhibitors to insure the fair's success. It is through your support and hard work that the State Fair has become North Carolina's premier annual event. Our 1991 theme is "Get A Little Agri-Culture" and focuses attention on the importance of North Carolina's $37 billion a year agriculture industry. Exciting and new shows, exhibits and activities are planned. There's just so much to do and see at the fair. Let us know if we at the N.C. Department of Agriculture can help you in any way. We want to assist you in making the 1991 State Fair one for the books. Thank you for your support, and I hope to see you around the fairgrounds. With all good wishes rely, Graham mis sioner
