PREFACE
This book contains written records and other authentic papers
of some Nichols families.
These records have been gathered from Virginia, Tennessee, Mary¬
land, Washington, D.C., Alabama, Missouri, West Virginia and other
sections of the United States. I have compiled these records not only
for the keen interest I have in the Genealogy of the Nichols’ families,
especially my own Family Tree, but, also for the benefit of future
Nichols’ generations. If interested, they may not have to do so much
reasearch in order to obtain the authentic documents.
This book will contain my impressions of the early Nichols people,
based on Court Records and other documents plus other evidence that
I have been able to obtain down through the years, also, facts about
those I have known in my own life time.
There are many fine things to write about, also, much sadness and
many instances where some laughter and fun prevail. This will all be
authentic and much proof will be furnished to substantiate this.
I will name places where some of our Ancestors are buried, hoping
in years to come, if any of our future generations are traveling through
the area, could see their graves and perhaps place a bouquet on some
of them.
