The Chair reviewed the meeting process including how task groups operate and how anyone may participate in the work of the task groups. The schedule for the 1906 document was reviewed. Discussion was help on the possibility of shortening the next cycle time on 1906. This would allow the committee to properly address crew carriers, off road vehicles and alternate seating positions. The next committee meeting will be held in January of 2012 in conjunction with FDSOA. At 09:30 the committee broke into task groups to work on admin, chassis, electrical, function, pump and wildland The 1911 and foam task groups will meet tomorrow. 22 March Chair called the meeting to order at 08:00 The 1911 and Foam task groups began work on their respective documents. At 10:00 the full committee reassembled to review the completed work of the task groups. Mr. Willette from NFPA addressed the group concerning the future vision of NFPA and how this committee and it’s work fits into the overall goals of the NFPA. A Q&A session followed discussing ideas for improving the NFPA standards processes. Alan Saulsbury addressed the group concerning the memorial service for Bob Barraclough tomorrow in Hoosier Hall in rooms 132-133. The committee processed the admin and chassis proposals and had spirited discussions about text that was omitted from the draft document but was included in the ROP documents. The full committee broke for lunch at 12:00 and resumed work at 13:00. The committee processed electrical, foam, function, pump, wildland and 1911. Work on proposals was finished at 16:35. The Chair proposed that we enter cycle early on the next revision of 1906. Steve Wilde proposed that we enter cycle early on the next revision of 1911. In further discussions, it was decided to delay the revision of 1901 by 1 year and to enter cycle early on 1906 so that they will both be revised at the same time. It was decided that 1911 should not enter cycle early. The Chair will make this recommendation to the standards council. Dan McKenzie was recognized for his 50 years in the fire service. The Chair thanked the group for all their efforts and adjourned the meeting at 17:00. The Chair met with the task group chairs after the full committee meeting was adjourned.
