Up to thepresent,eightspeciesof fourgeneraof thesubtribeBib1oporina in the tribe
TrichonychinisensuCHANDLER(2000)havebeenknownfromJapan.Inthecourseofmystudy,
Kuriporuscreator KURBATovonlyknownfromKunashiri IslandoftheChishimaIslandswas
discovered from Shikoku, whichisthefirst record of thisspeciesfromthemainlandofJapan.
Additionally,Bib1oporusponderosus KuRBATov known from Kunashiri IslandandHonshu is
recordedalsofromHokkaidointhepresent report.

Remarks. Thisspeciesistheonlymemberofthegenus.It ischaracterizedbyverysmall
body(0.75-0.80mminlength)andthelargeandtransversepronotumwiththreelongitudinal
sulci.
