InconnectionwithtaxonomicstudiesofGnaphalieae,preparationoftreat- mentsfortheFloraofNorthAmericavolumesofAsteraceae,andfloristicstud^ iesinNebraska, we report newdistribution recordsfortwospeciesof PseudognaphaliumKirp. PseMdogMaphaIiunijflJisccn.seinNebraska PseudognaphaliumjaUscense(Greenm.)Anderb.wasrecentlyreportedforthe U.S.A.,basedoncollectionsfromArizona,NewMexico,Texas,andColorado (Nesom2001,includingdetailsoftypificationanddescription).Thecurrent reportdocumentsitsoccurrenceintwelvecountiesofNebraska.Itwasfirst collectedinthestatein1968bySteveStephens(CusterCo.)butwasnotrecol- lecteduntil1991byHerbKarcher(HayesCo.).Ithassincebeenrecollectedin bothcountiesinadditiontonumerousothersitesinthesouthwestandtheNe- braskaSandhillsinthenorthcentralpartofthestate.Therecencyofthecol- lectionsandthecommonroadsidehabitatsuggestrecentintroduction,butother collectionsarefromapparentlynaturalhabitats,andthenativityofP.jaUscense inNebraskaisnotclear DistributionofthespeciesisshowninFigure1fornorthwesternMexico andtheU.S.A.,basedontheNebraskacitationsbelowandthoseinNesom(2001). Thesepfantshavelargerheadswithmorenumerous,moreopaquephyllariesand oftenmorefloretsthantypicalPstramineuni,whichisabundantinCalifornia. Involucres4-4.5mmhigh; phyllariesovate,in5-6graduateseries,usuallyopaque-whitebutsometimes pink.Pistillateflorets45-90(-110).Bisexualflorets(5-)6-12(-18),thecorollas oftenpinkonthelowerhalf.Cypselaeshallowlylongitudinallyridged,smooth.
