It isdistinguished from the nominotypica1subspecies occurringinTaiwanbytheslenderbodywithelongateelytraanddifferentconfiguration ofmalegenitalorgan. In Juneof 1983, Mr. Norito ABIRu collectedastrange Obriumspecies by alighttrapsetathishouselocatedonAtagoyamaHillnearthecentreofNagasaki City, northwestern Kyushu. It wasprovisionally recorded then by ABIRu and IMAsAKA(1983)asanunknownspeciesrelatedto 0.JaponlcumPIc(1904,p 22). However,itstruesystematicstatuswasnotclarifiedfortwelveyears.Recently,we hadanopportunitytoexaminetheObriumspeciesinquestionincomparisonwith othercongenersofthegenusoccurringintheneighbouringareasoftheJapanese Islands.Afteracarefulexamination,ithasbecomeclearthattheunknownspecies hascloserrelationshipto0.semiformosanumHAYAsHI(1974,pp.18-19)originally recorded fromTaiwan. In thisshortpaper,wewill introduceit to theJapanese faunaasanewgeographicalraceoftheTaiwanesespecies,under thenameof 0. sem ormosam m a zruisubsp nov. Beforegoingfurther,wewishtoexpressoursinceregratitudetoDr.Shun-Ichi UilNo of theNational ScienceMuseum (Nat. Hist), Tokyo, for his constant guidance, and also toMessrs. Norito ABIRUof NagasakiandShoichi IMAsAKA ofFukuoka for their kindnessinsubmitting thevaluablespecimen used in this study. Different fromthenominotypica1subspeciesbythedarkercoloration,longer body,weaklythoughdistinctlyemarginatesides ofelytrawhosepunctuation is larger anddeeper,andalsoelongateapicalpartofmedianlobeofmalegenital organ. Male. Bodysmallandelongate,withwidelyseparatedeyes, andlongand relativelythinappendages.Colourreddishbrown,shinyandslightlytranslucent, with dark reddish brown antennae and legsexcept for yellowishbrown basal partsof femora, palpi andelytra yellowish,eyesand inner sides of mandibles black. Head including eyes large though not so voluminous, almost smooth, sparsely clothed with long pale yellow hairs, HW/PA 1.43, HW/PW 1.22; mandiblesbroadandrathershort,brieflyhookedatapices;maxillarypalpuswith terminalsegmentelongatedspindle-shaped,widestatmiddle;clypeus0.58times as long as the basal width, smooth, transversely truncate at apex, with fronto-clypea1sutureweaklyarcuatenear middleandnotsodeep; fronsstrongly transverse,0.32timesas longasthebasalwidth, gently raised, withavestigial medianlongitudinalgrooveextendingtovertex;vertexgentlyraised,withhardly prominentantennaltubercles;occiputweaklyraised,providedwithafewshallow punctures; eyesstrongly prominent laterad, widelyseparated from each other, their interspacealittlemorethan t/3ondorsumand9/20on venter themaxi- mumwidth of head. Antennaelongand filiform, nearly 14 times as long as body; scape elongate and clavate, slightly longer than segment 3, widest at apical 1/3, shiny, clothed with longpaleyellowhairs; segment 2 twice itsapical width, thinly haired;segments3-4weakly thickened at apices, rather densely withpaleyellowhairs; terminalsegmentweaklyarcuate. Pronotumlongandnarrow,hardlycontractedatbothapexandbase,PL/PA 1.39,PL/PW1.19,PA/PB1.09,PB/EW0.54,PL/EL0.29;sidesalmost parallel in front, weakly rounded andarcuatelyemarginate to roundlyprominent lateral tubercles just before themiddle, thenweakly arcuateandsinuatetobase; base gently emarginate; disc moderately convex though transversely impressed at apical and basal t/3, almostevennear themiddle,scatteredwith rather large punctures,eachofwhichisprovidedwithalong yingpaleyellowhair.Scutellum narrowly triangular, thinlypubescent. Obrium semifoirmosatutm abirui subsp nov.Scale1mm. lessprominent humeri, nearly parallel in basal 3/11, weakly emarginate and weakly divergent to apical 3/11, then arcuately rounded to apices which are narrowlyseparately rounded;discweakly convex, closely providedwith rather largepunctures, though smooth near bases and apices, clothed withmedium- sizedpaleyellowhairs. Ventralsurfacesmoothinmostpart;prosternumpartlypubescent incentre just before coxal cavities, with presternal process invisible from above and approximate both coxae at the mid line; mesosterna1process strongly com- pressed and narrowly pointed apicad; abdomen distinctly narrowed to apex, sparselyhaired,with3rdsternitetwicethelengthof the4th,7thsternitetruncate at apex. l44 TatsuyaNnsAToandMasatoshiTAKAKUwA Legslongandthin,withhindfemurmoderatelycompressed,weaklyswollen inapical l/3. Malegenitalorgansmallandlightlysclerotized.Medianlobe l/5thelength of elytra, arcuate in profile, slightly elongate in apical part and moderately ampleinbasalpartindorsalview;ventralplatestronglyproducedapicad,arcuately emarginateatsides,withroundlytruncateapex.Tegmen3/4thelengthofmedian lobe,broad;paramerestraightlynarrowedtoapexwhichistruncateandprovided withlongsetae. Because of the differences in both the external and aedeaga1 morphology, andalso of thewidegeographical gapbetweennorthern Kyushu and Taiwan, thisnewsubspeciesmight be regarded as asibling species of 0. semifo(rrnosanum. Asinglemalespecimen examinedwascollected by a light trap set in a residentialarealocatedatthesoutheasternpartofNagasakiCity.Thelocalityis about ahalfway up thehill called Atagoyama,onwhich ispreservedby Atago Shrineanevergreenbroadleaved forestpredominatedby Castanopsissieboldii. 要 約 新里達也・高桑正敏:ニセタカサゴアメイロカミキリの九州北西部からの記録. - 長崎 市郊外で1983年に採集され, すでに阿比留・今坂(1983)により種名未確定のまま記録されてい る, ムナミゾアメイロカミキリ属の種を検した結果, 台湾から記録されているニセタカサゴア メイロカミキリと同一種であることが判明した. なお, この個体は台湾産のものと比較すると, 体長がはるかに大きく, 上翅はより長く, その背面は大きく密に点刻され, その両側が明瞭に えぐられるほか, 雄交尾器中央片の形態が異なる. 本論文では, この長崎産の個体にもとづい て詳細な形態記載を行なうとともに, 台湾の基亜種とは, 地理的・形態的に区別できる集団に 属するものとみなし, ナガサキアメイロカミキリ0.semifo(rmosanumabirutsubspnov.という新 名を与えた.
