servedinthecollectionoftheNationalScienceMuseum(Nat.Hist),Tokyo.

Female. Bodylength10mmandwidthabout4mmontheportionofposterior
thirdofelytra,robust,oblong-ovateandratherconvexabove(Fig.1A),surfaceblack
andshiningexcept formarginsofpronotumincludingposteriorangles,lateralmargins
ofelytra,andmostpartsofventralsurfacesofbodymoreorlessblackishbrown;an-
tennaeblackishbrownexcept forbasal threeor foursegmentsandlegscastaneouS
brown;vestiturefine, fulvousandsemidecumbent.
Thjs new subspecjes can be distinguished from H motscltulskyi yoshizaWa1
(0HRIA,1gg6)fromtheShjrabisoPassinIIda-shi,NaganoPrefecture,Honshubythe
followingpoints:thebodyrobuselrandmoreelongate;the3rdsegmentofantennaa
littlelongerthanthe2ndwhichisaslongasthe4th(Fig.1B);thediscofP「onOtumal-
mostglabrous,onlyfinelyandsparselypunctate(Fig.1C);thePOSte「Oi「an9leSof
pronotummorecelarlyandsharplyproducedpostero-1aterad(Fi9.1C↑);theSt「aloon
elytramoredeeplygrooved,withtheintervalsmorecelarlyelevated,finelyandi「「e9u-
1arlyrugose.
