On ane stone is carved ‘with the words Tianya (edge ofthe sky);on the other, Hiajiao (corner ofthe ts). The stones are now viewed as symbols of eternal and faithful love. T the Edge ofthe Sky (2010) i esentaly 2 romantic duet between the clarinet 31 violin, withthe piano acting as the mysterious ‘absolute’ which surounds and permeates both entities. [Ac frst, both violin and clarinet—lke the sea and sky— are exprested as independent from one another. He received his musical eaining at The Royal Conservatory and the Univers of Toronto and furthered his stadies in New York, aly and Germany.A member ‘of the TSO since 1970, David aso teaches cello and ‘chamber music at The Royal Conservatory and the University of Toronto, He coaches the cello sections of the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchessra and the National ‘Youth Orchesa of Canada, and is music dtector of, the Inter-Provncial Mase Camp.
