In 1983,theMembers'AnnualexhibitionwasheldattheFederalReserve BankofBoston. In1966,byvoteofthemembership,thenameoftheSocietywaschanged from,theBostonSocietyofWatercolorPainterstotheBostonWatercolor Society,thenameoriginallyusedbytheorganizationin 1885.Duetothe continuedexpansion in theSociety’s membershipto includeallthe New Englandstates,itwasvotedtochangethenameto TheNewEnglandWatercolorSocietyin 1980. In 1988, 1990 and 1992 the New England Watercolor Society has sponsored a North American Watercolor Open Show at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. More than 40 of our memberswerejuriedintotheshoweachyearfrom a pool of over 600 artists. Entries were from all overthecontinent,includingHawaii,Alaska,Canada and PuertoRico.
