Th e format of each case is designed to provide an easy-to-read summary of the most important information on each condition. We seek to emphasize information that is most relevant to patient care, i.e., the expertise that the referring physicians will need from the imaging studies. We include challenging examples of common diseases and typical examples of less common ones. Th e cases are organized into the three major areas of the ABR examination—brain imaging, spine imaging, and head & neck imaging. Within each of these areas, the cases are randomly ordered. We hope that you will enjoy challenging yourself and learning from these cases. This page intentionally left blank Acknowledgments Many stellar radiologists contributed to the cases in this book. We would particularly like to thank the following physicians for preparing cases for inclusion: Ali R. Sepahdari, MD of UCLA for cases of venous thrombosis and infarction, gliomatosis cerebri, giant cell astrocytoma, pineoblastoma, and colloid cyst. Amit A. Raheja, MD of Mass General Hospital for arterial dissection, vasospasm, glioblastoma multiforme, pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma, choroid plexus carcinoma/papilloma, and dermoid. Gaetano T.
