Description:The book doesn't cover much of Process Control applications of Neural Networks, which is my main area of interest, but is a good source of information if you want to learn about Neural Networks. The book focuses on research in natural and artificial neural systems directly applicable to control or making use of modern control theory.
Only chapter 9 shows an industrial application: "Approximation of time-optimal control for an industrial production plant with general regression neural network". Here the authors show simulation results for a general regression neural network application for time-optimal control of industrial plants (like in the paper, plastic, textile, and metal industry) that are characterized by a continuous moving web of material passing between rollers. The scheme is use to make the web control forces smooth (the electrical and mechanical quantities of the web drivers,, e.g., currents, torques, web speeds, web forces) and provide fast response.
