We hope and pray that our Nasirat enjoy the new program and find the workbook useful. The Nasirat program is designed to provide girls aged 7-14 with a comprehensive learning environment that will help develop their religious knowledge, personal and social skills. Inshallah, these skills will become an excellent source of guidance and inspiration for them as they progress into the realm of Lajna Imaillah. The Nasirat program lays out what should be covered during each quarter. The quarterly program is a guideline which has been developed to help you monitor your goal to complete the syllabus. Each Nasirat secretary can teach the material in the way she prefers. In addition to what is listed in the program per quarter, the workbook has supplemental questions to encourage interactive dialogue and a fuller understanding of the topics. The Nasirat program for 2013 – 2015 also includes Attributes of Allah and the Friday sermon to discuss for each quarter. The Nasirat team hopes you enjoy the new workbook! Tips for Nasirat Program: Be mindful of the environment we create Keep an environment conducive to learning Encourage the Nasirat to do their very best Teach about various offices in the Jamaat and their responsibilities Welcome all new Nasirat Use visuals whenever possible Remain open-minded during discussions Allow Nasirat to freely voice their opinions/concerns 3 MY GOALS In order for us to achieve a higher spiritual status we must set goals for ourselves. Please use the following space to set goals for yourself. There is no goal that is too small. Throughout the year you can always look at this page to help you remember what you are striving to achieve, whether it is a short or long goal. Remember to pray to Allah, that may He enable you to work towards, self-improvement, Ameen. 4 MY ACHIEVEMENTS As we set goals for ourselves we should keep track of the progress that we are making. Please use the following space to keep track of the progress that you have made towards your goals. These achievements can be the result of something that you have been working on for a long or short period of time. You can always refer to this sheet to help remind you of your progress, and to pray to Allah that may He enable you to continue to do good works and strive to improve yourself, Ameen. Transliteration: Ash- hado alla ilaha Illallaho wahdahu la sharika lahu wa ash-hado anna Muhammadan abduhu wa Rasuluh. Recite 3 times Translation I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, the One without any partner and I bear witness that Muhammad (S.A.W.) is His servant and His messenger. I solemnly promise that I shall always keep myself ready to serve Islam, my nation, and my country, and I shall always adhere to the truth (Inshallah). Recite 1 time 6 APRIL, MAY, & JUNE 2013 QUARTER 1 7 April-June 2013 The Holy Quran Chapter 1- Surah-Al-Fatiha [1:1] In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful. [1:2] All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds, [1:3] The Gracious, the Merciful, [1:4] Master of the Day of Judgment. [1:5] Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we implore for help. [1:6] Guide us in the right path — [1:7] The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray. Who is being referred to in verse 4? When verses 5 through 7 are recited what are we asking from Allah? 8 Chapter 112- Surah-Al-Ikhlas [112:1] In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful. [112:2] Say, ‘He is Allah, the One; [112:3] ‘Allah, the Independent and Besought of all. [112:4] ‘He begets not, nor is He begotten; [112:5] ‘And there is none like unto Him.’ What is the significance of verse 2? Verse 3 states that Allah is besought of all. What does that mean? Give an example from your daily life. 9 Chapter 114- Surah-Al-Naas [114:1] In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful. [114:2] Say, ‘I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, [114:3] ‘The King of mankind, [114:4] ‘The God of mankind, [114:5] ‘From the evil whisperings of the sneaking whisperer, [114:6] ‘Who whispers into the hearts of men, [114:7] ‘From among the Jinn and mankind.’ Verse 3 and 4 refer to ‘The King of mankind and ‘The God of mankind’, are these verses referring to the same thing?
