Shkir, PhD Mohd. Shkir, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, King Khalid University (KKU), Abha, Saudi Arabia, since 2013, where he played key role in the development of the Advanced Functional Materials and Optoelectronics Laboratory (AFMOL). He has published over 320 research papers in high-impact international and national journals, and his work has been cited over 3503 times. His h-index is 31, i10-index is 119, and RG score is 42.334. He holds an international patent on solar-cell fabrication system [ES2527976 (A1)―2015-02-02]. Dr. Shkir has received many awards, including the Award for Revolutionary Findings; DS Kothari Post-Doctoral Fellowship Award; IAAM Young Scientist Medal 2018, Singapore; MNRE-SEC-Research Associate; etc. His area of research includes nanosynthesis of different kinds of materials for biomedical, optoelectronic, photodetectors, radiation detection applications, etc. He had led many research groups in the past and currently leads a research group on “Investigation on Novel Class of Materials (INCM)” at KKU. Kaushik, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Florida Polytechnic University, Lakeland, Florida, USA. Dr. Kaushik is exploring nanotechnology, materials science, thin films, minia- turized sensors, electrochemistry, electro-chemical biosensors, nanomedicine, drug delivery to CNS, and biomedical engineering for health wellness. He was formerly President of the Saudi Physical Society (SPS) from 2013 to 2016. He has authored and co-authored more than 220 articles in peer-reviewed and well-known ISI journals. He works with collaborators and researchers with mutual interest from many institutes and universities around the world. His research interest is primarily in the area of the condensed matter physics at the nanoscale, in particular, the correlation nature of the nano-quantum structures and their properties and applications. In addition to the growth of varying forms of nanostructured materials and their basic characterization by XRD, SEM, TEM, etc., he is interested in utilizing the powerful techniques related to accelerators physics such as the ion beam analysis (IBA) and synchrotron radiation to fundamentally investigate the essence of the nanomaterials and understand and engineer their novel properties for modern and futuristic applications. Dr. AlFaify obtained his PhD in condensed matter physics/nanomaterials in 2011 from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI, USA.
