Throughout the Law and Prophets, we learn of this Anointed One who will rule and usher in a time when wolves sleep with lambs and children play safely at the mouths of viper dens.1 The Messiah has a destiny greater than any other king since the founding of the nation of Israel. He will sit on the throne of David and rule over the entire world from Jerusalem. Yet, His purpose extends beyond simple kingship.
