One of the distinguishing draracteristics of a Mus1im is that thuy believe in all Prophets and Messengers \rVhom Allatu the Exalted, senf from Adam to Muhammad, ffinI Allah praise them all and render them safe from all evil. Islam commands Muslims to love and believe in all the Messengers 5 and Prophets, for th*y were the best of mankind. Islam clarifies that disbelieving in one of them is tantamount to disbelief in all of them. l4lhen a Muslim believes in Muhammad (ffi) but disbelievesi n Jesus( .*#t)h e is not considered a Muslim, even if he believes in Muhammad (#). Similarly, if one disbelieves in Muhammad (ffi) but believesi n other prophets, he is a disbeliever in all the Prophets. Allah informs us in the Qur'an that Muhammad (#) is mentioned in the 6 Torah and Gospel, through his description and actions. Allah says: {Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write whom they find wdtten with them in the Torah and the Gospel he commands them for Al-lula'roof (i.e. Islamic monotheism and all that Islam has ordained); and forbids them from al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief and all that Islam has 7 forbidden); he allows them as lawful all good and lawful things and prohibits them as unlawful all evil things. He releasest hem from their heary burdens and from the fetters that were upon them. So those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which has been sent down with him, it is they who will be successful.F 17:L571 Allah mentions in the Qur'an that Prophet Ibraheem (Abraham) supplicated Atlah to send a Prophet to mankind. Allah says: {Our Lord! Send amongst them a Messenger of their own who shall recite unto them Your verses and instruct them in the Book and Al-Hikmah (full knowledge of the Islamic laws and iurispmdence) and Purify them. Verily, You are the All- Mighty, the All-Wise.) l2:L291
