In seed coat morphology it is considered to be closely related to L. angulata,w hile gross morphology suggests ac lose alliance to Hypsera sessiliflora. To settle this problem,a r evision of Lobelia and allied genera is needed. Lobeliαloochooensis was first described by briefly mentioned (Satake et al. 1981).
