If I were looking for a fresh and mentally stimulating read, I would most likely not choose a book about Christians and their money. I would have been wrong to pass on this one. Money and the Church: A Better Way to Live and Give is not a treatise on tithing or an exhortation to give more. Nor does it rehash principles you’ve probably heard often enough. Rather, it offers a unique look into the connection between love, money, and freedom and our relationship with Christ.
Crosby pulls no punches in his candid treatment of this hot button topic. He raises serious questions regarding how, why, and to whom money is given in the traditional church system, yet his engaging and sometimes humorous, writing style makes this read as compelling as it is challenging. Still, even good principles are only information without the authority to back them up. I can vouch for the fact that the message contained in this book is offered by a man whose life bears the fruit of what he has written on these pages. - David Fredrickson, Family Room Media
