Box 630 Jefferson City, MO 65102 (573) 751-5505 Fax: (573) 522-1109 E-mail: [email protected] 54 YEARS OF GYPSY MOTH SURVEY IN MISSOURI!! 2021 Gypsy Moth Survey Results A total of five (5) moths were reported from our multi-agency, statewide survey. The moths were all captured in the following county: St. Louis (5-Arnold, Eureka, Chesterfield, Des Peres, and Ballwin). The moths were forwarded to the USDA OTIS lab for molecular testing and were found negative for Asian Gypsy moth. Approximately 4,689 pheromone traps were placed around the state (43 of 114 counties) by all cooperators in the annual effort to detect the presence of this damaging insect pest. Primary trapping agencies were Missouri Department of Agriculture, Missouri Department of Conservation and USDA-APHIS-PPQ, with additional trapping conducted by U.S. Army and Missouri National Guard.
