Id irectly to MoDOT, Highway Patrol, and Conservation. I 2. CORE DESCRIPTION The Office of the Director serves as the focal point for leadership and coordination across the department. The Director articulates and reinforces the department’s vision and goals to the programs within the department and provides advice and counsel on public health and senior services issues to the governor and the legislature. The Director of the Department of Health and Senior Services facilitates the department’s partnership with local public health agencies, Area Agencies on Aging, and other organizations addressing public health and senior issues. The Director's Office staff provide administrative leadership, support, coordination, and oversight for the entire department. Staff within the Director's Office coordinate press releases and respond to media requests on health information and the department's social media posts, work on organizational development issues, provide counsel on regulatory and licensure actions, pursue guardianships for eligible adults, and provide legal assistance to all departmental divisions. This also includes the Employee Disqualification List (EDL) program that manages all aspects of the statutorily mandated EDL process, including complaint investigations indicating possible abuse, neglect, misappropriation of funds or property, and falsification of service delivery documents by employees. 3.
