Nicolas Cage in the film,

this kind of soulless-
ness that can happen to
parents,” she says. “My
character really wants
to be a good mom, and
it means everything to
her. Being ignored by
your kids doesn't make
your mother a mur-
derer normally, but in
this strange world, this
horrible thing happens.”

While Blair says the
film was certainly un-
nerving, she stops short
of calling it a full-on hor
ror film,

“T could almost show
my son,” she says. “I
mean because of the
language and the idea,
T wouldn't show my
son. I'ma better mother
than that, But there's
no image in there that’s
so grotesque it would
haunt you. It's just the
idea is terribly ‘disturb-
ing.
