+ Mesa College Study Abroad Paris 2017 Fashion 156/157 and French 102 July 2017 This could be you! + Goals of Study Abroad from a fashion perspective View Fashion in one of the world’s fashion capitals n Understand the Global nature of fashion n Experience life as a local student, living in Paris for a month n Study French to enhance the experience n + Timeframe Prep for Trip via Blackboard, prior to departure n Leave for Paris around June 30th, and return home on July 29th n + Study While in Paris French 102 will be taught in a classroom at the host n institution. Classes will be held in the a.m., Monday through Thursday, with other activities tba Fashion 156 (International Field Studies: Overview) and n Fashion 157 (International Field Studies: Focused Topics) will be taught primarily in the field in the city of Paris. Meetings will take place in the afternoons, Monday through Thursday, with some Friday and possible weekend activities + What’s Included Fashion 156/157 course-related visits to sites n within Paris, typically including many of the following: Palais Galliera (if open) n Musée des Arts Décoratifs n Louvre Musée de la Mode et du Textile n Fragonard Musée du Parfum n Manufacture des Gobelins Musée n Yves Saint Laurent Foundation n + What’s Included Fashion 156/157 course-related visits to sites within Paris, n typically including many of the following: Fashion show at Galeries Lafayette (subject to availability) n Visits to Other Retail Businesses, small and large n Visits to Concept Stores n Visits to Fashion Schools such as Parsons Paris, and/or n L’école du Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture + What else?
