These papers have been presented on technical sessions of the BIOMAT 2016 International Symposium, the 16th Symposium of the BIOMAT Series which was held at the Chern Institute of Mathematics — NankaiUniversity,Tianjin,People’sRepublic ofChina,fromOctober30th toNovember04th,2016. Onbehalfofthe BIOMATConsortium, wethank the Director of the Chern Institute, Prof. Chengming Bai, and the Chair of the BIOMAT 2016 Local Organizing Committee, Prof. Jishou Ruan of Nankai University. Ms. Hongqin Li, the Secretary of the Chern Institute, has used her professional expertise to provide very useful announcements to participants as well as changes on the Scientific Programme during the conference. We are also indebted to all those Chinese research students working on the registration office. Thanks so much for their unvaluable help.
