This information was developed in over ten years of leading Sedona Institute seminars, which pre- sent a specific technique to let go of stressful feelings. This material is still a major part ofthe Sedona Institute Basic Course. While there are exercises included which I believe will allow you to begin mastering your emotions, the book is not intended to replace anything you're already doing thatyou feel is construc- tive and helpful foryou. Additionally, it is not meant to be a sub- stitute for seeking competent professional help if you should decide thatyou need it. No book can take the place ofyour attendance at a good semi- nar, or personal contact with a resource you find helpful, such as a minister, priest, rabbi or therapist (if those are things you want to do). However, I truly believe this book can be a wonder- ful supplement to any discipline, therapy or counseling. Afteryou've read it, you can continue to refer to it as your own personal guidebook. You may want to read again the chapters that are most interesting toyou or try some ofthe suggested ways ofhelping yourself out ofnegative feelings. Allow yourselfto start enjoying your life. I believe that once you begin to understand your feelings, you'll see that you don't have to be the victim of — them anymore and that can make all the difference. I hope you enjoy the book and more importantly, I hope you find ithelpful. vn ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS I'd like to thank the following people who knowingly or ; unknowingly, were instrumental in making this book happen.
