He taught for 13 years at Marysville Intermedi ate School and 18 years at Marysville High School. He also coached basketball and track. However, his affilia tion with Marysville schools goes back much farther to when he graduated in 1959. In high school, Mr. Allen was a member of the basketball team and band. He was also the president of the National Honor Society as well as salutatorian of his class. In 1969, Mr. Allen began teaching Math and Science at MIS after teaching for six years at Richmond Middle School. In 1983, he began teaching Geometry and Algebra, which he would continue to do until he retired in 2001. Currently, Mr. Allen is working part-time at Universal Lift, and he teaches driver's train ing. In his past-time, he enjoys watching Nascar racing, and he is active in his church. He hunts, and he is a pitcher on his softball team, which is a sport he has played since Little League. Mr. Allen also enjoys traveling, and he has plans of going to New Zealand and Austraila. When he is not doing all of these activities, he is spending time with his wife, two daughters, granddaughter, and two grandsons. Mr. Allen was also the 2002 Grand Marshall of our Homecoming festivities. For his commitment to teaching and coaching in the Marysville Schools, the 2003 yearbook is dedicated to Mr. Allen.
