HISTORICAL OR ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE w () z <i z (.') iii ·In August 1920 John Cheney filed a subdivision plan for a new real estate development called "Pitkin Park" between Parker and Pitkin Streets. During the next two decades residents erected a variety of houses in popular contemporary styles, including good examples of Dutch Colonial, Colonial Revival, and Tudor cottage designs. 37 Academy Street, constructed c. 1923, is an excellent example of the numerous Dutch Colonial suburban homes erected throughout the survey area during the 1920s and 1930s. It was originally the home of Lucius Foster, an employee at Case Brothers, a paper products manufacturing firm.
