The Los Angeles Access to Health Coverage Coalition (LA Access) is a California Endowment-funded project composed of health-based organizations working in four geographic regions of the county with large numbers of low-income, uninsured individuals. The Directory was developed to help coordinate LA Access Coalition members and other agencies conducting outreach and enrollment activities throughout Los Angeles County by sharing information and resource referral. Coalition members are funded to increase enrollment in various public and private health coverage programs and advocate for the expansion of health coverage options for underserved, uninsured residents in Los Angeles County. Community Health Councils, Inc. (CHC) acts as the lead agency in coordinating Coalition activities, including the following: 1. Improving outreach, enrollment, retention, and utilization efforts in the target geographic regions through coalition-building activities 2. Identifying the training and capacity building needs of member organizations 3. Coordinating and providing training opportunities and resources 4. Informing local policy and advocacy priorities on the uninsured with lessons learned from the field. All coalition member organizations are working towards the same of goal of ensuring equal access to quality healthcare, but we each have our own unique approach and expertise. It is our hope that this Directory will serve as a tool for linking agencies that serve the same populations and provide a resource for those seeking health access services outside their communities. The Directory is arranged alphabetically by organization name. The organizations are also listed in the beginning of the Directory by Service Planning Area (SPA) and languages spoken. Every effort was made to publish an accurate overview on each organization listed. Readers should contact an organization directly if they want more detailed information. We welcome comments, suggestions, and additions for future editions. Together, we can work collectively to provide access to quality healthcare for all those in need: true collaboration begins with understanding the range of our work as individual organizations.
