Essentially, I replicate these items on a real life-scale, complete with meticulous detail. I achieve this absolute realism by incorporating parts of the actual object, as well as custom-made stains, paints, plastics and gold leaf. They are moments that cause time to stand still and they weigh on her mind for days weeks or years. These instances incite an unwavering need to explain or express them to others; my only method for doing so is through a visual vocabulary. This work is a collection of experiences, beginning with childhood memories, continuing through more recent events. They discuss issues such as child neglect, abandonment and domestic discomfort.
