Ray Doiron is Professor Emeritus in the Faculty of Education at the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada. He has taught in teacher education programs focused in early literacy, as well as graduate programs in school librarianship. His research interests include the role of play in early child development, early literacy, digital technologies, school librarianship, and the role libraries play in reading promotion, supporting literacy, and building a culture for literacy. Drs Asselin and Doiron wish to thank all of the librarians who contributed to this book with information on their library and how it supports reading and literacy. We asked each person to give a short biography so readers would know who the contributors were. In a few cases, the person who wrote the case study on a local library does not actually work in that library, but may have done so in the past and/ or has some professional connection to the library. The biographies are arranged alphabetically by country.
