If it is not extinct, Lallanae is critically endangered. Despite its 'obscurity', the possibleextinction/endangered status ofLallanae isamatterofconcern, notwithstandingtheextremelyhigheconomicvalueofagriculturein the Brigalow Biogeographic Region. The apparentdemise ofLallanaemay herald loss of otherreptilespecies.
