During the period of breastfeeding women are more vulnerable to get difficulties such as breast engorgement, sore nipple and mastitis. Breast engorgement is a painful and unpleasant condition affecting large numbers of women in the early postpartum period. During a time when mothers are coping with the demands of a new baby, it may be particularly distressing. Health professionals play a crucial role in the prevention and management of this type of difficulty. The present study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of cold cabbage leaves Vs hot application on breast engorgement among postnatal mothers in a selected Hospital, Mangalore. Objectives: The objectives of the study were to: • assess the breast engorgement before and after cold cabbage leaves and hot application among postnatal mothers. • determine the effectiveness of cold cabbage leaves application on breast engorgement among postnatal mothers. • determine the effectiveness of hot application on breast engorgement among postnatal mothers. • compare the effectiveness of cold cabbage leaves and hot application on breast engorgement among postnatal mothers
